Pitstop with Paul at the Porsche Center!

Learning shouldn't be this much FUN! For 2020, SECO has expanded upon its reputation of presenting education in novel and enjoyable settings. In addition to lunch and dinner sessions we're putting the pedal to the metal with “Pitstop with Paul” CE and Sports Car Experience at the Porsche Center with SECO’s General Chairman, Paul C. Ajamian, OD. In an era of increasing litigation for anything against anyone, the doctor of optometry is driving on thin ice. This course will cover practical reminders on avoiding malpractice using actual court cases.

Thursday, March 5, 5:45 PM – 6:45 PM - Demo laps information: Each participant will get to experience the thrill of a Porsche from the passenger seat, while the professional drivers take them around the course. Demonstration laps last 2-3 minutes. Each participant must bring a photo ID.

Note: Due to the fact there may be participants that decide to add on the 2-Hour Drive Experience, no transportation is provided to or from this special event.

Attendees will need to be check in at the security gate and present a government issued ID and must be 21 years of age.  If your name not on the guest list or you do not have a government issued ID  - you will not be allowed entrance.  From the gate, you will proceed to the Porsche Experience Center Reception desk to check in and sign a waiver for the Driving Experience. Once complete, you will be directed to the Turbo Room for the 1 hour CE session.  This process takes approximately 30 minutes.

If interested in driving the course, participants can add on a 2-Hour Drive Experience. The 2-Hour Drive Experience (to take place prior to the course), drive times are 9:00am, 11:00am, and 2:00pm and are first come first served. SECO has not reserved any spots for this experience. The cost for the driving experience is $650 per person and includes a $50 damage waiver. Space is limited to 21 participants. Upscale Sports Bar Dinner and CE with Selina McGee, OD.  Join Dr. McGee at Stats Sports Bar for two hours of outstanding CE:   "Aesthetically Pleasing: Incorporating Oculoplastics Into Your Practice". This course will help increase awareness of what's available in the aesthetic marketplace today, and how doctors of optometry can incorporate aesthetics into their own practice. "Meal With Mo" at Der Biergarten!

Join Mo Rafieetary, OD for casual dining and CE at one of downtown Atlanta's most enjoyable spots, Der Biergarten.  Mo's course "Anti-VEGF for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner" begins at 7:15PM Thursday March 5 and ends at 8:15PM. In the last two decades, anti-VEGF therapy has significantly transformed management and visual outcome of many retinal conditions. This course will probe the indications, risks and benefits of these drugs. The economic impact of these therapies is also discussed.
